The definition of joy in the Webster Dictionary goes as follows: the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires: delight.
For a child to feel and maintain joy, no matter the circumstance, a positive relationship must be developed between him/her and the facilitator. Building relationships with my students, parents, and colleges are vital to my philosophy of teaching. Nurturing a child, building awareness of learning differences, and growing as a professional would not be successful without strong relationships.
